Coming to you today from a patio in Costa Rica...

Yes, you read that right! I'm in Costa Rica! Due to Nicaragua changing their COVID regulations, we had to shift our route a bit and now here I am in Costa! My squad and I have been here living the pura vida lifestyle since Sunday and wow I love it. I always talk about being open handed, and this whole journey is such an incredible opportunity to practice doing just that. Here's a casual post to give a bit of an outline of what life has been looking like recently.

Travel day was such an experience. When it was announced to us that we would be going to Costa Rica, we weren't told anything other than that! Travel day rolled around and all we knew was that we had a flight into San Jose. When we landed in Costa Rica, we still had no idea where we were going or what we were doing. We were told to look for the big green bus, and to get on when it came. When the bus arrived, we all confidently loaded onto it, what a beautiful metaphor that is! We had no idea where this bus was taking us, but we knew we were safe and that the driver knew where he was going. I am following Jesus, and I truly have no idea where He is taking me, but I know that He is safe and He is good and He knows my every step.

My team and I are staying in the home of a missionary family from the states, which is such a huge blessing because we get to speak english and get a glimpse into what life looks like as full time missionaries (we also have real beds, hallelujah!) I have no idea how long we will be with this specific ministry, so I'm making an effort to be intentional with everything I'm doing. I don't want to be somebody who just goes through the motions, especially on a trip like this! I'm not going to lie, this ministry can be hard! I sometimes find myself physically and emotionally drained, but I am learning to allow myself to feel those emotions, and then to allow the Lord to fulfill me. We do a bit of everything here, from praying over spiritual warfare, to construction, to cleaning our host home, and everything in between. Every day truly looks different, which is something that I love! We are very well fed, actually most of the time I feel like my stomach is going to explode! We're also very deeply loved by the community around us, so to all of my family/loved ones, IM OKAY! This life is really sweet. I constantly find myself in awe of what the Lord is doing, and am learning more and more about His character daily. He's a protector and a father and I am precious to Him, none of those things will ever change.
